I have always wanted horses. Great horses that could do anything. I found that horse. By the time I got him he was 21 years old and had done it all. He had been retired from the showring for several years. I had the perfect opportunity to realize my dreams. 
Sabio I discovered was the epitome of a well trained stallion and he really proved what a great horse he is, and so he became my pet. He is turned out in a pasture with mares. I seldom ride him anymore.
Do I see the old horse? No, I see a kindered spirit who probably sometime soon will leave me.
He will always hold a special place in my heart.
Till you sprout wings old man, we've got each other

.Sabio has left such a strong impression on me that I have decided to change direction. We will no longer be breeding and promoting Arabians.

The new vision of Pokey Oaks Farm is to  train a truly versitile animal. A family pet and ranch, trail and arena partner. After rescuing and retraining horses for years I decided to start with a clean slate.
I looked at several different breeds trying to find what I was looking  I have always liked Draft horses and so.......
As of now we are rebuilding our stock, Planning our goals and taking our time about things. We will be updating with pictures of Lola as she matures. We will be adding a blog soon. Check back for updates.

Lola is home!
Lola has settled into the routine here at PO.
We had our first session with the trainer Saturday afternoon and Lola did beautifully.
She is well on her way....... What a great Mothers day!
